Agribusiness Start-up Training Program to be held at ICRISAT

Hyderabad, June 2019- A 20-day Agribusiness Start-up Training Program will be held from 5 July, 2019, at ICRISAT Patancheru, for aspiring entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMEs and NGOs. This is for starting or operating an enterprise in food processing, animal husbandry, aquaculture, floriculture, agri-biotechnology, digital agriculture, farm mechanization and agricultural supply chain management. Professionals, students and consultants in these areas are also encouraged to apply.

ICRISAT, in association with The Entrepreneur Zone (TEZ), will be conducting the program on Fridays and Saturdays. The theme-based sessions will cover emerging trends and agribusiness opportunities, business modeling, identifying market gap and customer-product mapping models, crafting go-to-market strategies, understanding business financials and regulatory compliances, managing partnerships, networks and team building.

The program will also include visits to agribusiness companies, mentor sessions from investors and industry experts, interactions with agri-tech start-ups and business development assistance from ICRISAT’s Agri-Business Incubator.

The past two editions of the program had over 50 participants, mostly working professionals interested in starting agri-based businesses. Participants were encouraged to test their ideas and validate models based on their learning from the program. Several participants have started business operations in organic farming, farm management systems, supply chain management and value-addition domains.
