One-day ag conference for Ararat

Business case studies from agricultural innovators, plus climate adaptation, trade agreements, water security and increased productivity through digital technology will be discussed at a free conference in regional Victoria, Australia on 26 July.
Hosted by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES), the Ararat Regional Outlook conference will hear from local producers as well as ABARES economists and speakers from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Bureau of Meteorology, Birchip Cropping Group, GWMWater and Precision Agriculture.
Acting ABARES executive director and conference speaker Peter Gooday said the one-day conference was a valuable event for those working in agricultural and associated industries in regional Victoria.
The conference – to be officially opened by Senator for Victoria, Bridget McKenzie – will focus on the national and international economic issues affecting the state, free trade agreements, increasing productivity with digital technology, weather and climate forecasting, the challenges of climate change and farming and raising sheep enterprise profits.
