Building on its rising prospects worldwide, the vertical farming industry will hold its first Middle East Congress from 12 to 14 December in Abu Dhabi.

“More Governments throughout the region are identifying vertical farming as integral to their strategies for healthy nutrition, local fresh produce and year round sustainability,” commented event organiser Richard Hall, Chairman of specialist food consultants Zenith Global.

“This inaugural Middle East conference will connect leading international and regional operators and suppliers alongside Government authorities, advisers, investors, customers and media,” he added.

With the theme of Strategy for Self-Sufficiency, the first Vertical Farming Middle East Congress will be held in association with the UAE Food & Beverage Business Group and in partnership with FoodTech Valley (a joint initiative between WASL and the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment).

The 3 day event will include multiple presentations and panels, two evening receptions, round tables for best practice development and vertical farm tours in Dubai as well as Abu Dhabi.

Speakers confirmed so far include:
• Keynote addresses from UAE Food & Beverage Manufacturers Group and Carrefour.
• World vertical farming leaders AeroFarms, Infarm, N.Thing and YesHealth.
• Middle East innovators Al Aliyo, Beirut Farm, Natufia and Uns Farms.

The programme aims to raise the profile and awareness of Vertical Farming as well as support the development and growth of individual businesses through best practice and networking.
