AgTech : Israeli tech to improve farming
Nagpur: Maharashtra CM directed the implementation of two pilot projects in Yavatmal district of Vidarbha and in Osmanabad district of Marathwada. Agriculture processing and building up market network will also be part of the pilot scheme.
To improve farming Israeli technologies will be used in the two projects with the objective of making improving yields and agriculture sustainable. CM Fadnavis also issued orders for speeding up power connections to needy cultivators in the farm-suicide prone 14 districts of the state and also to improve primary health care faculties there.
The decisions were taken at a meeting held in Mantralaya under the aegis of Shetkari Swavlamban Mission headed by farm activist Kishore Tiwari. New farming techniques based on Israeli experience would be adopted for the two districts which have different conditions and weather patterns. These techniques have delivered fantastic results and would be used for improve economic condition of the distressed farmers.
